So when Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said, you're not far from the kingdom of God.
And from then on, no one dared ask him any more questions.
But I love that when he's like, you're close.
Yeah, you're in the neighborhood.
You're to the kingdom.
What does that mean?
I think that's a good way to start this discussion.
Yeah.
Well, I think how this ties in to where we're at in 1 John, because he's fixing to get into this, the idea of love and where it comes from, which I think is the most profound statement the more I'm reading this in 1 John 4, where he says, love comes from God.
Well, and my point is he'd just gone through this Antichrist dissertation, which I think when we talked about that, boy, people couldn't get enough of that because everybody has a theory on what that means.
But he specifically said in verse 2, this is how you can recognize the Spirit of God.
Every spirit that acknowledged that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.
But every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
And so then he launches into this loving one another.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
So it made me think, I saw this somewhere.
It's real exciting.
It's been a while, and I didn't plan on giving this, but since I read that about when he said, you're close to the kingdom, talking about what is the greatest command?
Jesus brings up the exact dissertation that John is giving about
Love God, love one another.
