We don't know how long this corporation tax largesse is going to last.
And I mean, generally, if you're looking at economies, when you see numbers that look really, really weird, it's never a good thing.
And for an economy like Ireland, where 35% of our tax stake is now through corporation tax, that's a complete outlier with most countries.
And it looks really, really strange.
And it raises questions about the sustainability of what's happening.
And so even when Niall sort of made the point there, I mean, you actually sort of said that it was, you know, these were the people who cared about Ireland, you know, or cared about the people of Ireland.
Like, believe me, I care about the people of Ireland, too.
And the thing I worry about most is when this happens,
which inevitably will experience a downturn in the coming years, that we won't have the fiscal firepower to insulate and protect people, you know, when the economy is turned down.
We've had this history in Ireland for many, many years.
They may be asking, but for God's sake, can we have a mature politics and media and a discussion generally?
Do you honestly think?
I don't know.
Here's the point.
OK, we absolutely need to look after people who need to be looked after.
I don't think anybody has any difficulty.
But what I'm trying to do, Niall, is look forward into the future.
OK, and if you look at the history of any economy in the world, particularly the Irish economy.
OK, we have periods of boom and we have periods of considerable downturns.
All right.
