So Operation Eagle Claw, which was a failure in Desert One when the helicopter flew into the refueling tanker on the ground, blew up.

President Carter aborted it.

Everybody came back.

And, you know, it's all over the news.

You know, a tactical mission now is a strategic failure because

So what they did is they reformed the entire task force and created the 160th out of that.

And the second hostage rescue attempt wasn't required because President Reagan came in, they released the hostages, and everybody stood down.

But what they decided was that they would keep the Army Rotorooing Soft Special Operations Forces intact, and that was the 160th.

So, formed from the ashes of Desert One, they go into Iran to rescue this guy doing their mission, and they did well.

They ran into some problems, as you will, but there's always contingencies, and they had contingencies.
