And then General Dostum decided to take Kabul.
So everybody back in our command is telling the Green Beret captain, tell him no, advise him no, we're not ready to do that.
Maybe in the spring, right?
And this is a November, December timeframe of 2001.
And he goes, we can't stop him.
And so all we can do now is support him.
And he took Kabul.
Kabul in like a week.
Wow.
And they were expecting, you know, a year or so, but the Taliban just fled and that's how we got the embassy back.
Yeah.
And then we just kept doing, I told you, we did 21 teams total between the two flights of two and we just kept doing it night after night, pushing the aircraft, the aircraft crews kept those things up.
So it was November of 2001.
We get told, hey, send two aircraft to Bagram Air Force Base down in Afghanistan.
We get this thing called Tora Bora.
We think we got bin Laden.
So they start that.
No, this is when we got away.
So this is 2001.
And while those guys go down there, my job is to fly around Afghanistan and move all of the Green Berets to C-130 capable airstrips, meaning they can be resupplied now by Air Force airplanes instead of us, meaning we're going home.
