I said, yeah, like 90 miles an hour.

For three minutes, I said, we're like 10 miles away.

And he's like,

Sure did.

I mean, that's probably the toughest flying I've done in my entire life.

It was about two weeks of, of hell, you know, flying into there.

Cause we were trying to find all the bodies because.

So it starts out rescue.

Operation Red Wings, which is a conventional operation with the US Marines.

But in order to get our helicopters, the special operations helicopters, you have to have a special operations component in the mission.

So they said, well...

It would be great if we got some special forces guys up on the hill overlooking the village because what happens all the time when you come in with helicopter assaults is people hear you, you know, most of the time, and they tend to run, right?

So if you've got, you know, five different buildings where the bad guy could be and they run, now you've got to find these what we call squirters.

So the idea was these four guys turned to be SEALs.
