My thoughts is that whether a team is male or female, they should be treated the same.

I don't really see any difference.

I'm still coaching on the male side of things as well.

So I turn up, I see football players.

It doesn't really matter to me whether they're men or women.

I think they should be treated the same.

But again, I suppose there are some differences and it was good to attend the course and to have those put out for me to learn about.

I think what surprised me in a positive sense is the appetite for players to play, for girls and for women to play and for women coaches to get involved.

I think a course like that lets them know that they're needed

I do think it's good for female teams to have female coaches as well.

I suppose traditionally it has always been dads.

And again, dads may not be aware of what the girls may need fully.

So yeah, just the appetite for new teams, for new players, for new coaches was a very positive experience to see.

The core of this team is a bunch of girls that were playing before COVID.

They were 16 or 17.

And obviously, look, we know what happened.

The world more or less shut down.

Football took a back seat.

The girls have looked to get it going again and I saw they were looking for a coach so I just thought it was a great opportunity to come in.

It's a fantastic club with wonderful facilities and the league here in Cork is very well run so it's an exciting time for us to get going.
