So right out of the gate, you know, again, coasting on instincts, didn't know what I was doing, but it was working.

I started in season five on Smallville, and there was a ratings record, the episode I came in on.

So pretty deep into the show, they're like suddenly boosting ratings.

Yeah.

nobody was showing up for me.

But I mean, it was like, I think they thought the idea was that this character was so exciting that it was like something.

Yeah.

And so I was offered my own show and it was very strange because like out of nowhere, suddenly I'm getting calls from the studio at like 10 o'clock at night.

This guy would be like,

Ellen, I'm your guy.

I'm here to keep you out of trouble.

It's going to be a rocket ship.

If you ever go to the club, you get a little too drunk.

You get in a fight.

We're going to clean your mess up.

You call me first.

Okay.

And I was like, wow, what is happening?

I was like, that's Hollywood.
