I was like, no, dude, I was born to play Shazam.

Like a kid Superman.

Yeah.

So I turned it down five times.

And on the one hand, they just kept offering me more money.

And I was like, I'm not negotiating.

I really am not going to do this.

And eventually got to the point where I remember I was in my backyard in LA.

Jeff Johns called again.

He was like, listen,

I know for a fact you're not going to get Shazam.

The director really wants to work with somebody else, but I'm not going back to you for this part.

You have to say right now where they're going to, I was like so devastated, but I was like, all right, I'll do it.

And so I took this other part, which I really enjoyed, but Hawk and Dove was a fun.

Yeah.

But that, yeah.

So anyway, but I had almost no days off since then.

That was a pretty interesting time in my career.

There was some catapulting happening to like newer rungs on the ladder.

But until then, I mean, to answer your question, there was like a relentless belief in myself after I decided like, I know what I'm doing.
