Even though he didn't have his best, he still beat Scheffler, who played the last two days without a bogey.
And...
He didn't make as many putts as he would have wanted to, but that was the full Scottie Scheffler that was coming at him and Rory didn't blink.
So that changes that dynamic a little bit too.
You know,
People like this idea of Rory and Bryson going head-to-head because there's obviously some dislike there.
And you have Liv versus the PGA Tour.
There's a lot going into that rivalry.
But the purists want to see Rory against Scottie because they are the two best players of this era.
Scottie's on a historic pace.
And
We got a little taste of it today.
They weren't in the same group.
Schepler was a little far back, but it was our first real taste of it at a major, and it was delicious.
Yeah, you're right, 100%.
but it's only four and he had his chances and so it just it's gonna it just turns volume up on the pga championship in huge ways you know scotty being the defending champ there and um they can start trading blows on some with some regularity that's just gonna elevate the entire sport in a huge way so this was a dream result for rory but it was also a great subplot for the whole the whole game
um in the last week or so and it's there in the feed it won't be dated whatsoever by um these events so listen to that and of course get the book um i don't know if you're doing a paperback version but you certainly have another chapter to write now you know oh yeah well that'll that'll happen for sure and i was i was kind of thinking about should i do like a a book tour around ireland before or after the open championship the obvious answer is yes because uh
It's just been fun to get a lot of feedback from folks who are reading the book over there already and
Rory, he's in rarefied air.
This guy is the greatest sportsman to come out of Europe, you could say.
