I have to tell you, actually, the Y in Sindarin is pronounced like the U in French, I think, like U. So it's like Turin.
But then he, thankfully, for people like you and me who can't pronounce it that way, says that the men of Gondor pronounced it like they would pronounce the letter I. There we go.
