I love that PCA has that confidence, and I know he's also saying that tongue-in-cheek in terms of the pitching lab stuff.
He's always in the middle of stuff, isn't he?
But I do love the way that the guy plays, and I love his attitude about things.
I don't think, guys, until Shohei Ohtani retires...
that there is going to be another National League MVP.
It's just almost an impossibility with the fact that he does it on both sides of the ball and that he does it so effectively.
I know a lot of the knock in terms of Shohei being considered for the Cy Young in the National League was because he's not going to have enough innings.
But if you're looking at it as a most valuable player award...
I don't know how you give it to anybody other than Shohei, regardless of the team that he is on.
He just does too much for the team on both sides of the baseball, and he does it at such a high level.
I think there needs to be another award entirely.
He's the most unique player for sure.
And I love that Pete Crow Armstrong wants to dethrone him.
I'm sure everybody in the National League that could be an MVP if Shohei didn't exist wants to dethrone him.
I just don't see it happening.
He's just too special and too unique of a player.
I think that's such a good point, Layla, that you bring up, because I don't remember a time in which there were so many parties that could actively go either way.
The American League is so bad this year.
There's a probably out of the 15 American League teams, there's probably 10 that could go either way.
Honestly, I mean, I think there's four teams that are actually above 500, maybe one team that's at the 500 mark.
