He's having a very good year.
He's arguably the best hitter in the Red Sox lineup.
So, yeah, it is closure for some of these guys and for some of the fans.
And it just keeps it in perspective.
And it shows you how hard it is for a guy to stay in the same uniform his entire career.
It's few and far between that that happens anymore.
I love that PCA has that confidence, and I know he's also saying that tongue-in-cheek in terms of the pitching lab stuff.
He's always in the middle of stuff, isn't he?
But I do love the way that the guy plays, and I love his attitude about things.
I don't think, guys, until Shohei Ohtani retires that there is going to be another National League MVP.
It's just almost an impossibility with the fact that he does it on both sides of the ball and that he does it so effectively.
I know a lot of the knock in terms of Shohei being considered –
for the Cy Young in the National League was because he's not going to have enough innings.
But if you're looking at it as a most valuable player award, I don't know how you give it to anybody other than Shohei, regardless of the team that he is on.
He just does too much for the team on both sides of the baseball, and he does it at such a high level.
I think there needs to be another award entirely.
He's the most unique player for sure.
And I love that Pete Crowe Armstrong wants to dethrone him.
I'm sure everybody in the National League that could be an MVP if Shohei didn't exist wants to dethrone him.
I just don't see it happening.
