And even now, even now today, you know, I follow German politics very, very closely. matched

And the debate that's happening, and okay, there's Merkel. matched

You know, a million Syrians are going to come in. matched

There are going to be consequences, and there have been consequences. matched

But even today, the German debate, in terms of one of the reasons why the German government is not doing well is because the economy is not doing very well, or one of the reasons why the economy is not doing very well is because they're not getting the right balances in the labour market. matched

So what the politics are saying, push them all out. matched

and the economics is saying hold on a minute we're an aging population we're going to need more people coming in working paying taxes etc so these the the the realities of these debates are not going to go away no my and so when and you said that when you first came here in 1996 immigration was not up here in terms of 55 000 a year yeah no but i'm telling you in terms of where it was in political oh yeah three percent right okay and now it's it's right up there now it's up there in part because of facts matched

but it's where i think it's um where the populist bit i i find offensive is the way it's then being exploited fine and that's why we're you know so but isn't the issue is that if if you guys on the conservatives and everybody if you'd fix the facts there'd be nothing to exploit i'm not even sure that's right you know if you think why not matched
