Seasons were first introduced on Forest FM years ago.
Initially, I'll admit, purely for the sake of organization.
In the long run, though, they've also given the show a more sustainable cadence.
Borrowing from the world of events, it pays to have a world-class team organizing the Forest Summit.
Seasons introduced production cycles to the podcast.
Dedicated stretches to pause, gather and integrate feedback, explore new avenues, commit to a direction, and move forward with intention.
And over time, this has allowed the show not only to solidify its identity as a space where innovative ideas, methods, and bold perspectives are celebrated, but also to ensure we meet whatever moment we collectively find ourselves in with the right conversations.
I often think of the show primarily as a solo operation, at least on the producing end.
But the more I sit with that thought, the less true it becomes.
The reality is that it takes a collective effort to mirror back the truths of our community.
To that extent, allow me to briefly name that it's taken the trust of previous and current managers at Forest, of every guest we've ever invited and or had on,
It's taken collaboration by means of a co-host for nearly half of the show's existence, a team for everything that relates to the visual identity, another for all that encompasses sound editing and mixing, another for getting the episodes into your hands through Forrest's social channels, and of course, you listening.
And that's whether you're tuning in for your first or 300th episode.
I say all this because leaning into community is offered as a key resource for navigating much of what is explored in this conversation with Ildi today.
But I'll get back to that.
For the past nine seasons, Forest FM has been steadily putting down roots.
Growing slowly but steadily, like the trees in the forest forest.
Every episode's been its own brand of fertilizer, carrying insight, knowledge, lessons, new ideas, and stories.
Every episode is also teaching me something as a producer and host.
And of course, I hope it leaves you with something valuable as well.
