I mean, you look at some of the numbers of the pitchers that have gone against the Cubs.
You have Paul Skeens that goes against the Cubs twice at PNC Park, and the Cubs beat him both times.
So obviously Paul's had a more down year from 2025 here in 2026, but he's still Paul freaking Skeens.
So you look at Max Freed, you look at Garrett Cole, and the numbers for them, especially recently, have been really good.
I will put this Cubs offense up against any offense.
If you look at every single meaningful statistic, and it's not just home run slugging percentage, it is on base percentage.
It is drawing walks.
It's just the way that they demoralize starting pitchers.
It's like death by a thousand paper cuts sometimes.
And I just think that they can, top to bottom in their order, whether it is Pete Crow Armstrong and Miguel Amaya, they make starting pitchers and really any pitcher.
Sweating bullets.
They did it on the road trip too.
They've done it all season long.
I mean, I remember, what was it?
At the beginning of the month, it was right after the All-Star break.
It was against the twins, Zebby Matthews.
And it looked like Zebby Matthews was seeing ghosts on the mound.
It was like 89 pitches in three and two-thirds innings.
That's not something that every offense can do.
And the fact that the Cubs do it pretty much every series for the entire season, they're really tough to face.
