And the fact that the Cubs do it pretty much every series for the entire season, they're really tough to face.
I love it.
I think that Pedro has been one of the better hitters since the All-Star break.
I mean, the contact rate has been so impressive throughout his entire professional career.
The fact that he's played, what, nearly 40 games up the big leagues.
He's sitting over .300, around a .360 on base percentage.
And I think you have to have contact guys at the top of the order.
No Seiya Suzuki in the lineup today.
He gets the day off.
So, yeah, you make sure you can table set with P. Crowe Armstrong and Pedro Ramirez and let the middle of the order without Seiya do their work.
Switch hitter, can play four different positions consistently.
quality at bat, doesn't strike out much, elite bat-to-ball skills, doesn't give away ABs, works him with Dansby Swanson and Nico Horner and Michael Bush.
They just work so many pitches in a single at bat.
So I think it's just the productive AB that you'll get from a 22-year-old rookie who, as I said, nearly 40 games up in the big leagues.
That is a luxury that most teams don't have.
