I mean, the speeches that Trump gives, he's very often mentioning Joe Biden, even in that confrontation with President Zelensky in the Oval Office a couple of weeks ago.
Joe Biden was someone who came up repeatedly in that confrontation.
Right.
There is a broader strategy here that the White House is embracing, which is keep Biden alive in the headlines, in the news.
So that way, if there is a downturn in the economy, if something happens, if there is some negative development,
it could be blamed on Joe Biden.
You talk about it in the book.
So one of the things that Trump really tapped into was this visceral sense of frustration among supporters, people in the middle of the country, blue collar workers, but also people who traditionally vote for Democrats.
And he was able to siphon those voters away from Kamala Harris.
Here's the interesting thing, though, which is that this is a story that Democrats want to look at, because if they want to figure out what went wrong, how to win the midterms, how to win in 2028, they're going to need to win these voters back.
Right.
And what they're going to have to do is they're going to have to go to these voters and they're going to have to say, look, Donald Trump's Donald Trump promised you that these policies would help you.
economically, they'd help you get back on your feet.
But he hasn't done that to you.
That's what Democrats are going to have to figure out how to do in the next two years, in four years' time when there's another presidential race.
So looking back at what happened in this election, beyond the news that's come out in this book, is important because there's a roadmap here for Democrats if they want to figure out a way to get back in power.
What do you mean by that?
Well, if you look at what happened in the election, Donald Trump was able to siphon off a small but meaningful number of voters, minority voters, Black voters.
He was able to make inroads in urban areas.
He was able to make inroads with lower income voters in a lot of cases.
