But then, so, you know, growing up with my father excavating, I always was fascinated with equipment and always wanted to be in farming.

We never really had a chance.

You know, every time we'd go buy hay for horses and stuff, I'd always want to go and talk to the farmer and hang out with them and stuff.

And then...

When I got my license and we moved to the county we're in now, Carroll, it was a little more rural and had an opportunity to work for a farmer.

And he let me come and instead of just, you know, pitchforking manure and stacking hay, he let me bale a little bit of hay, run his combine, plant and do some things.

And I was hooked then.

And

I didn't have a choice.

So worked for him for one summer, right when I got my license.

And then he kind of worked his way out of farming, just family reasons and stuff.

And a few years later, I called him back and I said, you know, I know your stuff's kind of sitting around.

Would you sell me some?

He's like, well, you're kind of stupid.

You probably shouldn't even think about it.

He's like, has he ever put pencil to paper?

I said, yeah, I have a little bit.

And I said, it doesn't make much sense, but I really want to do it.

And

He was nice enough.
