Fulton County District Attorney Fawnie Willis originally brought the massive RICO case, but was removed by a Georgia court for her personal relationship with a special prosecutor.
The prosecuting attorney's counsel of Georgia, Executive Director Pete Skandalakis, was ordered to appoint a new prosecutor, but each one he approached respectfully declined.
Skandalakis said that dismissal at this point was not the right course of action and has named himself to lead the case and perform what he called a comprehensive review to determine how to proceed.

That's after a Georgia court removed Willis because her relationship with a special prosecutor created an appearance of impropriety.
The prosecuting attorney's council of Georgia has to name her replacement by November 14th or the indictments are dismissed.
In a statement, the council's executive director, Pete Skandalakis, said Trump's pardons only apply to federal charges, not state, and his office is working on their assigned task without being influenced by outside actions.
