And in a little battle by themselves, really, although it was sort of the two teammates fighting each other in equal case.
By Silverstone, it was the main pack, then the Cadillacs, then the Astons behind by some considerable margin.
So, you know, the upgrade at the very least has to leapfrog them back further.
into contention with cadillac but from alonso's position it's got to go even further and get them ahead of that really uh to to to keep him happy and i think that's where this all blends together with what he's saying about the engines and in 2027 it's a combination of factors of just that's what will keep him going if the aston is better combined with the fact that the cars might be more intuitive to drive and i think that's what will ultimately decide it but therefore as that's the whole thing you can't discount the importance of the upgrade coming in hungary
I think as well I'm wondering when does the question start have to be asked of all the drivers but particularly the ones that are really vocal about how bad they're currently finding the current engines when have they first tested the 27 rules and the way those are going to perform on their team simulator because if it's all about making you know little steps and getting that feeling back to how they had it before I kind of want to know how soon can the team start simulating that how can they how quickly can they give the sort of reassurance that it is going to get better for them that's
It's the sort of thing I've not heard anyone speak about just yet.
But as we know, their simulation capabilities at every team, including Aston Martin, are tremendous.
So yeah, when are they first going to get a sense of what they've got ahead of them?
And that significantly increases the pressure on the team.
Because you're right, Josh, Aston's whole story since Alonso joined the team, got to the front at the start of 23, has been the fact that it's gone off the boil as the year has gone on.
I think it was almost like deja vu talking to people like Mike Crack at the end of 24.
Because it was like, we've got to do the same job because we haven't been able to do it in 23 or 24 either.
