Microsoft has access to OpenAI IP till 2032.
And Microsoft, by being like the sole provider for OpenAI on cloud, sort of got to determine how much compute OpenAI could use.
And OpenAI needed way more compute than they wanted.
Meanwhile, like, so, you know, what did you get for that?
If you were Microsoft, you got like, okay, exclusive access to OpenAI models through Azure.
But you also had this clause in the contract that if OpenAI were to say, hey, we've hit AGI or artificial general intelligence, AI on par,
With human-level intelligence, then you would lose your right to make money off of that.
This was a complete mess.
That's crazy.
And even Sam Altman, opening ICE CEO this week, has talked about how one of the things that he's done wrong, and I think we could all agree with this, is that he has had this belief that he could innovate on corporate structure.
Like, it's almost like these, which he obviously had with the nonprofit.
He had it with Microsoft with this AGI clause.
It just doesn't work that way.
Sometimes people with brains like that think they could change everything, but some things like having a normal board and being a for-profit if you need billions of dollars...
And there's a reason why they work that way.
I still don't like his answer.
I didn't get that.
Never lands.
He said like the biggest reward for him is that he gets to be at the helm of this startup that's changing the world.
