Don Baker down in Tasmania had a really good interview with a group of journalists about his views on –

the opportunity that's available for Cricket Tasmania and they're looking for a global partner that's different to say Western Australia's view in terms of what they're going to look at when they possibly go to market.

So there's a lot of different views out there.

There's obviously still the

uh skepticism and you know disagreement from north of the border in in New South Wales and to a lesser degree in Queensland and South Australia sort of sit on the fence so not a lot has changed and and I know for a fact nothing has changed on the players front either that's probably a big sticking point that's going to get

really interesting in the coming weeks while the prospective sale of the renegades goes on

it wouldn't be far away from what is actually the truth, but no.

One of the fundamental issues is the memorandum of understanding, the player's pay deal, and the ACA, who represent all of Australian cricketers, believe that there is clear legislation for want of a better term or clear written factors in their current contract agreement that has a right to any proceeds from any particular sale and they have legal advice backing that up.

And CA believe that, which is run by the former CEO of the ACA now and Todd Greenberg believe that they, the, uh, 27 and a half percent, which is what the players get of Australian cricket revenue is separate from any, um, sales proceeds from selling the renegades or any stakes in any other club.

So, uh,

sales proceeds would sit in a bucket that doesn't fall under what is called Australian Cricket Revenue which the players have only 25 27.5 percent of that so you're starting to get into really technical legalese and all sorts of things but at at its core there's a fundamental disagreement on that particular issue and the ACA believe no sales process can happen until that is sorted out

My understanding is, yeah, it'll either go to that or there'll be negotiations that run concurrently or continue to run concurrently with an arbitration process and

we'll see where we get to after that.

But yeah, it's a difficult, delicate process that is going to take time and it appears, and it doesn't appear, I know for a fact, the two sides are miles apart at the minute.

I think from the ACA's position, as far as I'm concerned, and Paul Marsh gave some quotes on the record to me last week, their negotiation starting point is they're willing to forego that lump sum in order to raise the 27.5% revenue share moving forward.

So it would just simply put the ACA in a stronger negotiating position.

And I think they'd continue with that unless something changed.
