What have been some of the biggest developments in housing in the last five, 10 years, while it's been really the focus of your work?
Which is a common objection about zoning.
It's like, well, you know, a new apartment building was built, but it's very expensive to live there.
And I feel like rents are still going up.
Everything's still so expensive.
I wanna finish with a quote actually from the book, which is something you said to me that really stuck with me.
So I'm gonna read the quote here.
You told me, I wish that communities had the mentality that is their responsibility to grow because we know there's going to be future generations that are going to need housing.
I wish that people cared more about future residents.
Could you tell me a bit more what you mean there?
So this is absolutely the focus of a chapter of the book.
I really love that because what could be more understandable that you, you,
choose a neighborhood, you don't want it to change.
But there's a trade-off because of all the people who are new to housing in the future.
And it does seem like there's a way economics is so much about incentives and laws and policies, but this was something really about empathy that you're pointing out as important.
