Yeah, they beat the defending champs in seven games with no prior experience, no injuries inside.
That's, that's a pretty tough thing to just discount.
So I think at full strength, you know, the Thunder decision of seven games, despite having two of their better players out, says a lot.
And, you know, Chet Holmgren went missing basically in the middle of that game.
But the results have to count for something, right?
Like, on paper, do I think the Thunder are better?
But, you know, there's things that you can't plan for, like injuries, and the Spurs got it done despite having never been there before, which is pretty impressive.
Soren, do you know who Carl Anthony Towns went to high school with?
I thought game three was one of the best games I've ever seen Carl play on both ends of the court.
having known him half my life, basically.
I thought that, yes, he was not โ he did not drop 40, but he kept the Knicks offense going when they were struggling to get shots from Jalen Brunson and some of the other guys.
And he put Victor Wimbanyama in a โ what's those โ straight jacket more than I would have thought he would have โ
I genuinely think that this has been the best stretch of basketball Carl's played in his life, and the decision to make him the focal point of the offense is what has changed in the next season, because I don't think Tom Thibodeau would have done that.
So I get that it wasn't the best box score,
for Carl, but when you put it in the context of the game and how they were playing him and what the correct input was for him for them to win, I think it was pretty damn good.
