When you go to the school for OS, you have to learn silhouettes.
In a lot of rates, you have to learn silhouettes, and you just have to know that's a DDG, this is a Prowler, different aircraft, different submarines.
You have to learn this when you're first coming into the Navy in a lot of the schools.
I've been seeing different silhouettes of air surface and subsurface my whole career.
Looking at that day and understanding that there were no plumes, there was nothing I was able to see on that day, when I described to my fellow watchstanders, some of the skeptics on board the ship were like, oh, well, that's just another...
you know, commercial com-nav radar, as we would call it.
I think maybe 30, 45 seconds pass and a commercial navigation pops up on my radar and I say, okay, zoom into that on there and you see the plume, you see the wings.
