Portland Police Chief Bob Day said that the two people shot by federal authorities are associated with the Tren del Ragua.
The U.S.
Department of Homeland Security has said that the two are gang members.
At a press conference, Day said that the pair were connected to a July shooting in Portland that involved the Venezuelan gang.
He could not confirm whether they were suspects.
Day said he was hesitant to share these details.
The two who were injured in the Thursday shooting are in stable condition.
They are in federal custody.
