I would also say that the structure of the New York Stock Exchange has changed in various complex ways over the years.
But when Catherine Kinney was co-president of the exchange...
That was also kind of not the top job.
There was a CEO who was much more visible, much more the leader of the exchange at that time.
There was a succession of them, Dick Grasso, John Thain, some other household names.
Right now, Stacey is essentially assuming the seat that they had before.
That's absolutely right.
So NASDAQ's chief executive is Adina Friedman, who took over beginning of last year.
And she took over from Bob Greifeld, who was a guy who ran the exchange at NASDAQ for many years.
When she did that, she became the first woman to lead a major U.S.
stock exchange operator.
Together, if you add up NASDAQ and NYSE, that's about 40% of U.S.
stock trading volume.
And it's overseen by women now.
So it's kind of interesting how they've led in that particular space.
Yeah, so Tom Farley has been the head of the New York Stock Exchange and kind of its public face really for the past five years.
He came in as part of this acquisition by ICE in 2012, 2013.
And he has really been very visible, especially in the New York Stock Exchange's efforts to win IPOs.
So every time you hear about a company ringing the bell for its IPO at the New York Stock Exchange, Tom Farley is usually up there on the platform ringing the bell with them.
The New York Stock Exchange, despite its sort of visibility in the public imagination around finance, is actually in a very tough business because maybe about a decade ago, loosely speaking, new regulations came in that sort of smashed the original NASDAQ-NICE duopoly that kind of dominated the U.S.
