I want to commend the staff at HOSS, the Housing Options Solutions and Supports Division, for giving me a tour of one of the homeless locations.
along with the Broward Partnership, so I could see firsthand how we offer the wraparound services that's needed, medical and dental care, and employment readiness training.
So I was pleased to visit the location.
It was the Huizenga location.
I want to thank Dan West and his staff for assisting with the Jamaica relief supplies.
making sure that supplies got picked up from the library and got taken to Air Cargo where they were sent off to Jamaica just recently this past week.
And also our donors and a generous sponsor that made all this possible.
Staff attended in our district, District 7, the Hollywood West Salsa Fest.
It's an annual event that brings music, culture, toys.
The Three Kings were there as a celebration.

Additionally, we celebrated Martin Luther King celebrations throughout the district, City of Miramar, and the City of Pines had an MLK parade and festivities, which we all attended.
The district, my staff attended.
In addition to that, I was pleased to attend the opening of the Arcadian in Fort Lauderdale.
It's a new 500-unit residential development located along Sistrunk Boulevard, and it was supported by a $10 million investment by the Fort Lauderdale CRA.
And I do know that the county has some involvement which hasn't really been fully tied up yet.
I did ask staff to look into that, where there was a $5 million offer on the table.
