And that sort of, I think that elevates all of this from just, oh, we now have this add-on productivity tool that can save us some minutes to, wow, we are going to be working completely differently when we sort of had this new team member join the team.
interesting it's a great question and I think it's also dependent on how how much will this increase human to human collaboration as well because if now like the experience I've certainly had when I've been on a call with my team and copilot is that we are highly collaborative and highly creative and we get because all of the cognitive first drafts copilot takes on right you don't have to you don't have to
carry that that burden of getting the first idea right like copilot gives you a list of ideas and you iterate from that so as a team you can get jump started a lot more quickly and that would be an incentive to be in the office more right because you can then be together yeah that's a great counterpoint yeah
Well, so because I'm a very data-driven person, I'll share with you a data point that I've been noodling over from this large randomized control trial we did of the 6,000 people using Copilot.
This is not using Copilot.
And, you know, I told you we saw a significant decrease in time spent on emails.
What we didn't see is much difference to meetings.
And that's the thing, you know, everyone wants to believe is that AI will automatically chop your time spent in meetings down by half, right?
Especially because in this report, we saw that meetings are happening at that peak brain activity time, right?
So is that the best use of your peak brain activity?
Is it to be in a meeting?
It could be, I'm not saying it isn't, but it's something we need to ask ourselves.
And so I was sort of noodling on, oh gosh, what does that mean that
That AI isn't automatically changing time spent in meetings.
That some companies had decreases and some had increases and some had no change.
And I think it simply boils down to your meetings culture.
And whether or not you have a healthy meetings culture at your company, AI will not change that.
You have to do the work to change that.
You have to do the work to set the expectation for what a meeting should be for.
and how we should use them and how many hours a week we should be in them.
