Alexis, in a rare address to the nation, Prime Minister Keir Starmer is warning of tough weeks ahead.
But he reserved his strongest words for the US, pushing back on President Trump's comments about the UK getting its own oil from the strait.
Starmer drew a line in the sand.
It's a public rebuke from a British leader who has made close relations with America a priority.
The other clear sign of a rift with the White House was Starmer saying that in the long term, the UK needs to forge a closer pact with the EU.

Oil is falling on the latest war developments, even as the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed.
Right now, Brent crude down just fractionally at about 104 the barrel.
WTI crude down more than 1% at around $100 a barrel.
