You know, the reason that women have handbags, even sometimes the tiniest little handbag, and men don't, is because they don't have those spaces to put their belongings.
Um, and it's obviously in the interests of the handbag industry, which is quite a big industry.

Um okay, so now we're yeah, just as useful.
Um now we're at the end of our story and often when you're going through these developments in history, you want to reach the modern day and say, Oh look, it's been resolved and we're we're not with this some kind of resolution.
But actually it's a moment anticlimax because things haven't really changed.
I mean, most women's clothes still don't have pockets.

And I suppose this is a good reminder that we often see history as this separate point to the modern world and we're this kind of full stop moment.
Yeah, but we're just one stepping stone.
We're just one step living through history which is changing all the time.
So who knows what will happen next with the pocket story.
And actually, you know, just last year there was this eight year old schoolgirl and she was shopping for her school uniform with her mother and she found that the boys' trousers had pockets and the girls' trousers did not have pockets.
