I like the pioneer part, but the true crime phraseology, you know, associated with my work, you know, even though I understand why documentary, just documentary filmmaker.
I mean you can you can say true crime.
Everyone does.
I'm just saying I I I it you know, there is a lot of irresponsible true crime that that doesn't take the victims into account.
There's a lot of consumption of true crime where people are just like in it for the story.
And you know, you always have to remember this is the worst day in somebody's life, in a family's life.
And, you know, I only want to tell a story if you can move the needle forward on an investigation or you can make some social justice difference, or in this instance to really
Focus on the victims.
We thought that was very important.
Um, look, I've made shows that have focused on the killer.
Um, but when I do those kinds of shows, it's often to identify new victims of a serial killer or to get laws changed.
Um, so yeah, so the phrase true crime, it has this baggage of like wallowing in the misery of others just to tell a story.
And I like to
choose my subjects where I think I can needle from a social justice standpoint.
But yes, but but but as you said, we made a very
Conscious decision to be very victim focused here and really bring the the kids, you know, the s kids to life.
In part because, you know, um
Th this story, I've done a lot of stories where I care about the subject, but it just doesn't hit you the way this one hits you.
