A lot of people work in care because they're passionate about it.
They've often had personal experience, perhaps caring for a family member.
And that has made them want to give more.
So they don't do it for the pay.
But increasingly, they are being asked to do more and more complex work.
things that might once have been done by a district nurse even.
But the pay doesn't reflect that.
And one of the things that quite often happens is that someone will start climbing the ladder of qualifications
And then they'll go to the NHS because at the NHS, they will get paid several thousand pounds a year more for the same, what is virtually the same job.
And they will also have a pension.
