And as I say, they have already been questioned.

And so now we're waiting for the trial.

One would think that it wouldn't take too long, given that the facts seem to be fairly clear.

The Portuguese justice system, however, does sometimes work rather slowly.

We don't know anything about that because they've only been remanded into custody.

So I guess there would not be a question of any guilty pleas until there's actually a trial.

Oh, absolutely.

I mean, you know, of course, this has captured the attention of people in general.

Even the justice minister commented on just how shocking this case was.

And the spokesman for the Portuguese gendarmes, the National Guard,

said, you know, this is really very shocking.

The couple were actually detained in Fatima.

So about a couple of hours drive north, Fatima being the biggest Catholic shrine in Portugal.

And they were apparently sitting in an outdoor cafe, apparently seeming rather relaxed.

And a spokesman for the National Guard said, after something like this, finding this couple so relaxed at an outdoor cafe for hours was quite shocking.

And the spokesman said that their behavior suggested a certain detachment from the situation because they did not immediately respond to the allegations against them.

So, you know, they were, as I say, fairly easily tracked down.

It seems that the French authorities had already been on the case once it was it emerged that the children had disappeared.

So it was known that they were first in the south of France and then in Spain.

And then they, as I say, they were tracked to Portugal.
