And if you look where high density black and brown people in Broward County live, there are schools there that don't have athletic fields and don't have playgrounds because we gave sufficient land where we used to redline districts and the history of redlining is still with us. podcast-host

And so going forward, we have to think about that and make sure that we don't do that again. podcast-host

I'm not going to go through the history lessons here, but I just think on the equity point, we just have to be thoughtful about that. podcast-host

I don't think we need to show preferences or count heads in certain ways that are counterproductive. podcast-host

But I don't want to invest going forward in ways in which we don't think about the people who don't have those opportunities. podcast-host

And I just don't think that the way that this was discussed earlier is appropriate. podcast-host

And there are some people who have written about kind of how technology is changing our lives and how accelerated it has become podcast-host

And I think that if we don't capture that when we do long-term planning, we just run risk of being left behind. podcast-host
