Shame if you taught I talk to parents all day and they're saying
I did this when I was little and I always got in trouble for this.
They still carry that with them.
They're adults with children.
They're successful.
And yet they still remember that time they were ashamed in elementary school.
Right, absolutely.
And I think that is what my goal with all children is, is how do we help them advocate for themselves and say,
I'm not doing these things on the playground because I'm bad.
But I need this instead.
And that's what parents can do really through play.
And I think for me
You know, a lot of parents turn to behaviorists and different things, but I do think it's also important that they
Truly understand.
Whenever we are telling a child no, we're recognizing that a child communicates with their behavior.
So we need to acknowledge.
The reason they did it and help them to understand a better way.
And that is we do it all, you know, through play.
Often the answer is a more functional play.
