As we get a little bit older into the preschool age, we start to see some parallel play.
And then eventually they explore playing together.
And the play looks very it has a lot of imaginary components to it.
So you'll go into a preschool and all of a sudden the kids have just come up with a game where there's a dragon and they're chasing and they all know their role.
And one thing that's tricky with kids who are differently wired is they have trouble jumping into that play because they can't read the situation and can't figure out how do I get into this.
And there isn't really directions.
Kids don't ask, can I play with you?
They just jump in and figure out the situation and play.
As you get older, it ends up a little bit more structured.
So whether it's soccer, playing more structured sports, and everything has a little bit more of a definition within the play and less imaginary, but still imaginary play is there.
Just when you get into those years where you're the end of elementary school, the kids are playing things like let's do a pickup soccer game.
Let's play basketball.
The girls may be playing gymnastics.
building things.
So taking a box and building it into
A rocket ship.
It was like that.
Yeah, it's a good question.
I think there's a lot you can tap into from figuring out emotions through play.
And it starts with a parent knowing how to access play within their child.
