I mean, and just into about thousands and thousands of pieces.

The cracks spread across the glass.

Thankfully, it didn't fall.

I mean, it didn't have glass everywhere.

But I remember being really annoyed that we knew we would have to get this custom size piece of glass replaced.

I remember being annoyed but not sick in my stomach about it.

I remember thinking, oh, this is kind of annoying.

Like, I don't want anyone to step on the glass.

I don't want it to fall and us have a big hole in our house.

How long is it going to take to replace it?

All of those things.

But I never had this feeling of,

oh my gosh, how am I going to pay for this?

How am I going to cover this expense?

This is setting us up for complete failure.

Those thoughts never crossed my mind.

And it was because we had money in an emergency fund or things that would happen to us that we had no clue or no thought of ever happening, just like this experience.

I remember in that moment feeling annoyed and then smiling because this was the first time, well, maybe not the first time, but maybe I just really recognized it, that dealing with an emergency, it didn't make me really sad or ask all these questions.

It was instead just another thing I had to deal with.

And that only happened because we had money set aside for unexpected expenses.
