Nobody went bothered, bothered going to the yard and asking whoever she was with the day before had she had a fall.

No one checked any of this.

No one looked to see if these injuries were consistent with the fall.

And police should have contacted her mother as a matter of urgency.

He established the suicide narrative and he created a picture of Katie, it says, which should have his purpose and dismissed her lived experience.

So he was able to get in touch with the family first and put forward his version of events before anything else could be checked.
