And as we will learn, the intentional manipulation of abortion as a wedge issue had nothing to do with abortion and everything to do with segregation and greed.
And third, we are not and have never been irredeemably divided.
Indeed, we are not even divided.
More than 81% of Americans today, Republicans and Democrats, believe that decisions regarding abortion should be made privately between a pregnant person and their doctor rather than dictated by politicians.
The radical extremists know that Americans do not want the big government overreach into personal liberties that they are imposing, which is why abortion is about democracy, about whether the will of the people prevails over the minority of the extremists.

And the truth about abortion actually has very little to do with abortion.
It's a story about wise women and witches and medical monopoly and greed and fights to preserve profits and segregation.
Abortion has been a centuries-long bait and switch, a chess piece, a cover for a different fight altogether.
And we're about to expose it all.

If you were a woman living in New England in the 17th or 18th centuries and needed or wanted an abortion, no legal, social, or religious force would have stopped you, and you and the community would have been untroubled.
For 99.95% of human history, people have been having babies and avoiding having babies without state, legal, and religious prohibition.
For the vast majority of history, these institutions couldn't be bothered.
Promoting fertility, avoiding fertility, getting pregnant, avoiding pregnancy, labor and delivery, each was quite literally a woman's problem, which she handled with skilled, wise women and lay healers from her community.
A healer learned her craft from her mother or elders who learned it from her mother or her elders.
She knows how to deliver babies, stop bleeding, treat miscarriages, encourage fertility or prevent it.
