What were they doing and how were the people there responding to them?

And I want to talk about that because it was always kind of National Act, then New Zealand First, but that has changed.

See, I find it interesting because I know farming is a major export earner.

But do you think it's still accurate, I guess, to call it the backbone of our economy?

So where do Labour and the Greens fit into all of this?

Well, Stuart says they did attend field days and are pitching for that rural vote.

Like, what sort of reception are they getting at an event like field days?

Of course, farmers are often also politicians.

Let's not forget that farmers historically have enjoyed a remarkable representation in Parliament.
