what you say affects what somebody says back and and all of those kinds of things and that's all really rolled into this idea of empathy and perspective taking.
Um, I think we are in a
Time that is really ripe for the need to be empathetic.
You know, we live very sort of online lives.
We live sort of
distant from each other and the ability to really see that there are different perspectives in the world is what makes our kids really good global citizens.
And I definitely think the interesting thing about empathy is it's a way to connect.
And it's a way to see that as humans we're more alike than we are different.
And so when we're talking about perspective taking and empathy, the one thing that I always want to make really clear to people is that you can see somebody else's perspective and not agree with it and you can still believe that that's the way they ex experience the world.
And
Feel for them.
and really connect with them.
And I think that that sort of speaks to the the fact that
We can learn to hear other people without having to agree with them.
And that's something that I think kids really need to learn because I think um we're really as a society, I think just generally, we're really quick to to jump to
Wrong and right, instead of seeing the greys in between.
Yeah, definitely.
And you know, I know that's something I work on with my kids.
