Jensen Wong did sort of a fireside chat with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick this morning.
And then afterwards they took an opening photo for the G twenty event today with all ministers from all of the countries.
And after the ministers took their photo, Lutnik invited Jensen into the photo.
And then afterwards, the officials from the countries took turns one by one.
by one, several of them taking selfies and other photos with Jensen once again confirming his global rock star status because everyone needs access to his NVIDIA chips to run AI.
So it's basically it's sort of like a kumbaya moment.
We saw dozens of protesters on UNC Chapel Hills campus who were very anti-AI, very anti-data centers, very anti-flock safety cameras.
So the industry knows they have a huge problem here.
The administration knows they have a huge problem here, but people are trying to put on a good face this week in front of a global audience.
All the top AI executives are very worried.
They see these mounting threats from the technology they're creating and they see a huge public backlash against AI.
And they also see the US government and other governments around the world largely not doing enough to rein in some of these risks.
So the goal is to have industry play a big role in setting the standards.
And they want to do that so that they don't get saddled with.
some really burdensome regulation down the road.
That's sort of the pickle for President Trump and his advisers, how to sort of thread this needle.
They really don't want consumer prices to continue increasing, but they also don't want to jeopardize negotiations with the Chinese.
Apple is seeking some regulatory relief, essentially some permission to work with Chinese companies that have been considered security concerns in the past.
A big part of Apple's push here has been to approach President Trump and other administration officials and tell them that they would only use the Chinese memory chips for products sold in China or outside the US.
