Gasoline prices at the pump are much lower than they were even a year ago or even at the start of the year just a few months ago.
The national average a few weeks ago was at about $1.74 according to GasBuddy, and that was a four-year low, and it's since bounced back up to $1.83.
Just a few months ago, it was well above $2.

Again, it varies a lot, but it usually takes at least a few weeks.
That's why in April when we saw one price for U.S.
crude oil drop below zero for the first time ever, gasoline prices at the pump really weren't able to keep up because the plunge was so fast and so dramatic, and oil prices bounced right back up within a matter of days.
So it usually takes a little while, and that demand for oil is also demand for gasoline that we're seeing rise.
So
