Tom, this is win-win.
We all know that when we feel well, whether that's happiness or contentment, that we perform better.
So as organisations, we want colleagues and we want workers to feel happy
that they can do their best in their working environment.
And the way we all know we do that is by being content.
And a huge part of contentment is well-being.
So if you want your organisation to serve its customers, in our case members, in a really positive way and outperform competition, you will provide for them to feel really well through your activities, well-being programmes, education, etc.
Wellbeing has huge correlation with preventative health.
So if you look at lifestyle diseases like hypertension, like type 2 diabetes, like chronic lung conditions, we do know that there's a strong correlation between
early and lifestyle interventions like nutrition, like physical activity and the preventative nature that that has long term, which means less claims for the insurance companies, but also health span.
So you and I will have a longer life being healthy.
Oh, absolutely.
You're engaged in your health, in your total health, and you are making sure that you contribute to your lifestyle health choices and making you healthy as an individual, which is contributing to society.
I think this is pervasive, Tom, small, medium and large, because our survey points to only 37% of employees believe that their workplace supports them.
But for smaller companies, even if you've got five, ten, being focused on talking about health, making sure people have robust breaks and making sure you promote the free resources I talked about earlier, whether it comes to mental or physical health and making sure you've connection.
All we want in as a human is to belong and think about how much you work.
So belonging in your workplace and having that connection is huge.
So those conversations are key.
Maybe they do.
But if you think about the benefits, you are going to retain those staff longer.
