And she was accused of doing something like we always say, totally crazy and unbelievable, which it was.

So it was Halloween morning and Wichita police got a call around 7.50 a.m.

to what was described as, quote, cutting.

And when officers arrived at the home, they found an 80-year-old woman named Anita Avers

who was unresponsive in her bed.

She had multiple stab wounds, so paramedics rushed her to the hospital, but unfortunately, Anita didn't survive.

And outside that same home was her 47-year-old daughter named Angeline Mock, or as she went by, Angie.

She was covered in blood with cuts all over her hands, and according to neighbors, appeared to be in shock.

In fact, one neighbor told reporters that they saw her approach their car with her hands and clothes all bloody, asking them to call 911.

And apparently that's when Angie took the neighbor's boyfriend's phone, went back into the house and then called the police.

And what she reportedly told the dispatchers right after that is what actually shocked everyone.

Angie said that she had, quote, stabbed her mother to save herself, which we've heard this before, right?

Crazy.

Now, if this name sounds familiar, it's because Angie Mock used to be a familiar face on TV.

She worked as a morning news anchor and reported in St.

Louis from the years 2011 to 2015, before eventually leaving the news industry and landing in software and data management.

which is a huge leap.

And by looking at these photos, you can see her appearance has changed quite a bit over the years.

After being treated for her injuries, Angie was arrested and booked in the Sedgwick County Jail.

She was charged with premeditated first-degree murder, and her bond was set for $1 million.
