And then two or three times through and they go, hey, that felt great.

And just the thing emerged that took everybody, you know.

And I just was going, I forgot, I forgot, I forgot how great this is.

And Mac said, hey, if music's not fun, something's wrong with the world.

You should do more of this.

A couple months later, six weeks later, I called him back and said, hey, can we do that again?

I've got another four songs.

And another month went by, and he said, hey, I'd love to show you some stuff I've been writing.

And I said, well, I've got some more stuff, too.

But it just happened, just stretched out.

Nobody was holding their breath, waiting for anything from me, not even me.

What was the purpose of making the record?

Just the joy of it.

Did you have an idea of what you wanted to do with it once it was done, or were you just doing the process?

I was just enjoying the process.

And Mac was the one at the end of the third day.

We recorded in January, one day in March, one day in April.

And then he'd come to the house.

I'd sing the vocals.

He'd go back to his house.
