This was his second recall of the season.
Definitely.
The NCAA season for some schools who are not going on to the playoffs is starting to wind down.
And that is the case for one of the Habs prospects.
And as such...
The Canadians this week signed left-shot defenseman Luke Middlestat to a two-year entry-level contract.
That is for 2026-27 through 27-28.
However, he's going to join the organization this year by a one-year, one-way AHL contract with Laval.
And I believe he's going to hook up with them next week at home.
He is also going to get some other help because if you were listening to last week's episode of the show, I reminded you that although the NHL trade deadline had passed, the AHL trade deadline works on a different schedule.
The AHL trade deadline was 3 p.m.
Eastern this past Friday, which we're recording on a Saturday.
That would be yesterday.
And Kent Hughes did make a move.
or two, in the final hour or so before the trade deadline.
First up, everything that he did was with the Ottawa Senators.
He shipped out forward Riley Kidney and in return acquired goaltender Hunter Shepard and forward Jake Chiasen from the Ottawa Senators.
Kent Hughes also sent Ryan O'Rourke to Ottawa in exchange for future considerations.
So probably maybe doing a bit of a favor for O'Rourke, not getting a ton of playing time, maybe a better opportunity there or helping Ottawa if they needed his services as well.
for nothing um okay moving on to the next bit of roster news cole caulfield did practice on friday and he is slated to play on saturday night for the canadians versus the sharks
