So if we're going to highlight a Canadian's prospect of the week, why would it be anyone other than
Medicine Hat Tigers defenseman Bryce Pickford.
Who knows?
44 goals, 37 assists.
All right, we're going to highlight another prospect as well.
ECAC Hockey announced that Cornell's Alexi Cornoye is the recipient of the Ken Dryden Goalie of the Year Award for this season.
Well, and then with a last name like Cornway, eh?
Well, true.
Well, and he also got first team all ECAC hockey honors.
And let's just make it a nice trio of prospects to highlight this week because you cannot ignore when there's a goalie fight.
And when it involves a Habs prospect, well, then we have to talk about it.
For Laval, they played last Saturday winning 4-3 over Rochester in a shootout.
That was with Kapokakinen in net.
Laurent Dauphin getting the game-deciding goal in that one in the shootout.
They did not play all week this week, so they had a couple of days without Jacob Fowler to kind of get their footing again.
And so Kakanen back in net on Friday night while Laval was on the road visiting Utica.
But this time, ooh, things did not go Laval's way.
Utica put a stomping on them after the two teams were tied for a little while, but then Utica opened things up late in the game, winning it 5-2.
So not a fun...
Not a fun loss on the road.
