Right.

Well, it was sort of a combination of both.

Both Gail and I have always, without knowing that one another did, wanted to open a bookstore, always wanted to have a bookstore.

And honestly, when we started looking at it,

it felt like the right time and the right place in Bethesda.

So it didn't to either of us, especially after doing all of our research and reporting, it didn't feel like it was going to be an incredibly tough endeavor.

It felt like it was the right place to have a bookstore at the right time.

First of all, that was a beautiful analogy.

And yeah, I think that's exactly right.

I think

In many ways, and I better knock on some wood right now here, but I feel like there's a huge population of people where Amazon did not win.

And those are our customers.

And those are the Gales and Amy's of the world and so many other independent bookstores that are opening.

It just feels like there's a slice of the population.

And I feel like it's a very hefty slice that will always want an independent bookstore in their community.

That's interesting.

I feel like every independent bookstore is going to have its own personality based on the customers.

And I do feel like Bethesda is all of those things, the scientists, the journalists, the nonprofit folks, the government workers, but the readers.
